How to Pack Your Dirties Properly (Yes, It Really Matters)

You would not believe the things that have arrived at the cleaning hub over the years.
We’ve seen everything from bin bags to gift bags to a biscuit tin (yes, really). Someone once even popped their clothes into a shoe box that… still had the shoes in it.

It gave us a good laugh but it also reminded us it’s not always obvious what’s “right” when you’re posting clothes.
So here’s the gentle, no-judgement version:

Ideally nothing too flimsy (like bin bags) - they can tear in the lockers.
Nothing too quirky (like a biscuit tin) - even if it does make our day.
And nothing with extra surprises inside - unless it’s chocolate.

A good sturdy jiffy bag or box is genuinely all you need.
Your clothes stay protected, InPost stays happy, and your parcel doesn’t rattle on the journey.

1. Pick a sturdy bag or box
Think: Jiffy bag, cardboard box, anything that won’t burst open mid-journey.
Think not: a flimsy supermarket bag that tears if you look at it funny.
(Our FAQs back me up on this - InPost really do prefer sturdier packaging.)

2. Tape like you mean it
Sellotape is lovely for wrapping presents; terrible for posting clothes.
Use proper strong tape - your parcel should survive a mild hurricane, or at least the trip to Peterborough.
(Yes, FAQs again - “scotch tape please, no masking tape.”)

3. Add a note if you need to
No need to print labels (we sort that). But if you want to tell us “that coffee stain is actually red wine but I’m too embarrassed to say it,” pop a note inside.
(FAQs say this too - notes encouraged!)

4. Choose a locker and drop it in
Scan the code, pick a compartment that actually fits the parcel, pop it in, job done.
